EAST CLIVE TO HAVELOCK NORTH CYCLE TRAIL
It was a stunning summers day, the perfect opportunity to hit the cycle trails.
My young son Josh and I chose to cycle through to Havelock North and meet the rest of the family for lunch.
The trail overlooks orchards, the banks of the Tuki Tuki river and has views towards Te Mata Peak and Havelock North hills. The cycle trail runs along the top of a stop bank and is predominantly flat. It took us an hour to get to the edge of Havelock, approximately 15km.
Sadly when we hit the edge of Havelock, the cafe had closed down and we then had to head into the centre of Havelock for lunch. The cycle through to the centre was on a cycle lane, predominantly on-road. The blessing of the cafe being closed was we headed to one of our favourite cafes Maina. Beautiful food and great staff.
